Epic admits Fortnite game mode was ‘inspired’ by among us, but still won’t apologize for the blatant scam

The title developed by Innersloth became the talk of the city when the whole world took a stand due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this year, the title developed by Epic Games introduced a new game mode called Impostors. Fans had loved the developers’ initiative to include a game mode like this with the fun theatrics of Fortnite. However, it quickly sparked controversy after Innersloth criticized them for scamming Among Us. At first, Epic didn’t bat an eyelid. But, now the developers have given Innersloth a slight nod, but with no apologies.

Fortnite unveils Impostors mode inspired by Among Us

After releasing the game mode two months ago, it looks like Fortnite has finally given its props to the developers of Among Us, Innersloth. The developers recently released a blog post which included details of the game’s latest update to v18.20. In the post, Epic Games talked about a few changes to impostors with the update.

The mode now has a new role bias feature that allows players to increase their chances of being an impostor or agent. In addition, it will also have an Impostors playlist with an open voice chat. However, the big talking point of the post was the first line on the mode, which stated that imposters were “inspired” by Innersloth’s most popular game.

No excuse for copying Among Us from Epic Games

The developers at Epic Games may have recognized the Among Us and its developers. However, they did not apologize to Innersloth after literally ignoring the cries of elements copied from Among Us. After the mode was released in August, Among Us co-founder Marcus Bromander criticized the developers of Fortnite for stealing their idea. Additionally, Innersloth felt stung by the decision as the developers always wanted to collaborate with Epic Games for a mode like this.

Ultimately, it looks like Innersloth might be enough with a simple label inspiration from the developers of Fortnite. However, it looks like a missed opportunity for Epic Games to give Inner laziness some major accessories. Moreover, they could also have celebrated a title, which achieved a success unlike any other game instead of recognition.
